Adversity Players and Alumni Named to USA Volleyball Rosters
USA Volleyball has released this years rosters for their various High Performance, Youth and Junior National teams rosters. Through the HP Tryouts (which include three hours of court time), athletes are striving to be selected for the National-level Team or Camp in their age group.
In the youngest age group (USA Select), athletes selected to the National-level Program will participate in a training camp for five-six days with the other top nineteen athletes selected from tryouts. That group will then be broken into two teams that compete in a four-day competition at the USA High Performance Championships. This will all take place in mid-late July, after the USA Junior Nationals Tournament.
In the Youth and Junior Age groups, eighteen athletes selected to the National-level Program will join their respective Youth or Junior National Team for an extended training block, prior to a final squad of twelve athletes traveling to and participating in an international competition. In an event year (e.g. 2006) that competition is a NORCECA Qualifying Tournament for participation in World Championships the following year.
