Adversity Boy's 17's Come Home 11th at Nationals

Congratulations to the Adversity Boys 17 Elite for their 11th place finish in the Boys 17 Open division at the 2005 USA Volleyball Junior Olympic National Championships.  The guys went through a lot to get to day three but came up a little short and had to settle for the silver division on Day four.  It was a great effort on the part of these guys and they did a terrific job at Nationals.

Congratulations to all our Boy's teams for their performances at nationals this year.

Adversity Boy's 18's Come Home Top 10 at Nationals

Great Job by the Adversity Boys 18 Elite squad for finishing 10th overall (36 teams total) in the Boys 18 Open division at the 2005 USA Volleyball Junior Olympic National Championships.

After a tough day one that saw the guys finishing 3rd in their opening pool, the guys bounced back by winning a three team challenge round to stay in the gold medal hunt.  The guys then finished day two with a top two finish in pool play to continue their advance in the tournament.  A tough Day three saw the guys losing to eventual National Champions Riptides VBC and that sent the team into the silver bracket.

Day four started out with the guys avenging an earlier tournament loss to Cincinnati Attack 30-28,18-25,15-13 to send the team into the finals of the Silver Division and a top 10 finish.   This is a great effort considering this team obtained an "at large" bid into 18 Open this year.  Great job to the guys for this effort and finish and best of luck to each and every one of them as they go off to college this fall.

Adversity Girls 14 Elite receive nice letter from Chicago Jrs. VBC

Dear Archie and Adversity 14-1 team,

Greetings from the 14 -1 Chicago Jrs team and coach.  We would like to extend our warm-hearted thanks to you and your team for what you did for us at the Finals of the Minnesota Lights National Qualifier.  Initially you came to cheer our team on to victory in the finals (which is awesome in itself), but when the officiating team up and disappeared, you and your 14-1 team came to the rescue and stepped in to officiate.  Being that the 14 Finals were running an hour late and we were pretty much the last court playing in the hall - we just have to say "Thank God for Adversity 14-1 team!"

I went into practice on the Wednesday after the tournament and my players immediately mentioned your team and how very grateful they were for your support and help.  They were in amazement when the Adversity team began chanting our pre-game CJVBC chant with us.  Such unity within our Region is unique and your kindness and sincerity will never be forgotten.

If there is anything that we can do for you, please do not hesitate to call.
When we meet up with you at the next tournament, be sure that we will be on your sidelines cheering you on!

With Sincerest Gratitude,

Claire Donahue/Director CJVBC/14-1 Coach
and 14-1 Players

Great Job Girls and congratulations to Chicago Jrs. for Qualifying for Nationals at NLQ.
