Note: Girls on a ‘Varsity Roster’ may not tryout until team is eliminated from IHSA Playoffs, registration only


’17-’18 USAV Age Definitions:

18 & Under Division: Players who were born on or after September 1, 1999 or are a High School student in the 12th grade or below during the season.

17 & Under Division: Players who were born on or after September 1, 2000.

16 & Under Division: Players who were born on or after September 1, 2001.

15 & Under Division: Players who were born on or after September 1, 2002.

14 & Under Division: Players who were born on or after September 1  2003 or are in 8th grade.

13 & Under Division: Players who were born on or after September 1, 2004.

12 & Under Division: Players who were born on or after September 1, 2005.


Tryout Process:

  1. A new player to club volleyball must complete the registration for a ‘USAV Tryout Membership’ to receive a USAV #. If you are a returning club player, you will need your USAV #.
  2. All players must complete Adversity VBC’s online registration form located under the ‘Registration’ menu.  You will need your USAV # to register. You will be asked whether trying out for Regional or National (definitions below).
  3.  Tryout fee is $40 (cash only).
  4. Provide a copy of either your current ‘USAV Registration Card’ or a new tryout registration card.
  5. Print and provide a completed ‘17-’18 Medical Release form.

Definitions:
There are two common levels, generally referred to as Regional and Junior Olympic (JO).

Regional, or, short season teams, generally practice less (2 days versus 3) and play in fewer tournaments possibly different from other teams in the age or club.

JO, or, long season teams, compete in National Qualifiers to earn a bid to compete in the open division at the Girls National Championships. The GJNC’s are in late June/early July and the location varies.
